Yono's Description:
Owned and operated by the Purnomo family, Yono's has long been established as one of the finest restaurants in Albany. Indonesian-born chef Yono Purnomo is exacting in his execution of the dishes from his homeland, such as in the karé udang maimom (jumbo shrimp in curry sauce and coconut milk) as well as more American style preparations like a pan-seared beef tenderloin with locally grown-potato purée and wild mushroom ragoût. With tin ceilings, bronzed mirrors, heavy draperies and hushed servers, Yono's has an air of formality---and jackets are encouraged for gentlemen. The temperature- and humidity-controlled wine loft boasts more than 700 selections from around the globe and the cellar is well stocked, but it still competes with the very fine bar, with its impressive array of liquors including 28 single malt scotches.
