Gringada Mexican Restaurant Description:
Shirtsleeves casual and definitely low-key, this Mexican-style eatery has been a real draw for family crowds and even in midafternoon, pulls in the few stragglers who order up margaritas and Mexican beer to accompany their Tex-Mex dishes. This is not gourmet fare. Instead, it's the usual mix of burritos and fajitas, nachos and chimichangas, all cooked and served with little of the upscale seasonings you'll find at downtown restaurants. Nevertheless, the grub must be a crowd-pleaser, because this place has withstood the test of time and hung on in its Beltsville location for years. Perhaps the best bet here is the green chile burrito or maybe the crab burrito with chili con queso. If someone tags along and doesn't seem to warm to most things on the menu, they may want some breaded and butterflied fried shrimp or a chicken tender cheddar melt. Good desserts: fresh pies and cakes and fried ice cream.
