Aram Restaurant Description:
A pretty, pastel-hued restaurant with a fountain near the front window, Aram is a lovely place for a quiet dinner. Well-prepared Persian dishes include charbroiled kebabs---Cornish game hen, center-cut filet mignon and baby spring lamb tenderloin. An interesting way to sample Aram's wares is to order the Aram Combination, which features chicken, lamb chops, filet mignon and fish, served with three kinds of rice. Saffron-tinged basmati gets crowned with cherries, dill and lima beans, barberries, and most compelling, a blend of raisins, lentils and dates. Top stews include ghemeh bademjan---sautéed eggplant, beef and yellow split peas; and fesenjan---steamed chicken with pomegranate-walnut sauce. Lunch specials are real bargains. Syrup-soaked walnut baklava and Persian rosewater or pistachio ice cream highlight exotic dessert offerings.
