Pâtisserie Bechler Description:
Gérard Bechler, master pastry chef, opened Pâtisserie Bechler in 1984. Enjoy a cup of soup, slice of spinach quiche or quiche Lorraine in his Alsatian-influenced dining room, or join a favorite aunt outside on the enclosed redwood deck. Sandwiches are served Euro-style, restrained in substance and scope rather than super-size. We like the salami on one of Bechler's house-baked croissants. Box up some petits fours or linger longer over an espresso and the "brie au kirsch," vanilla cake soaked in kirsch with almond meringue; or the belle Hélène, chocolate cake, chocolate mousse and poached pear. Bechler does it all, from miniature fruit tarts shiny and colorful with an iridescent glaze to éclairs with creamy custard filling. You can also trust Bechler with the wedding cake of your dreams.
