Piatti Description:
The Mill Valley Piatti is the flagship restaurant of a chain of a dozen privately owned Piattis located from Texas to up and down the West Coast. Reopened after a lavish remodel, this location is now a striking stage-set of a restaurant, all white and grey marble, sleek lines and big views out to Mt. Tamalpais and an inlet of San Francisco Bay. The menu strives for seasonality, and features plenty of small plates as well as crisp, blistered pizzas from the wood-burning oven. The house-made pastas can be innovative; meat and seafood entrées have northern Italian flare. All that marble makes for noisy dining, though, and the chairs are hard. If you're young and game enough, hang out at the communal table with its backless stools and make the scene. The wine list is complemented by a full bar and signature cocktails.
