Panolivo Description:
A mid-sized French Bistro in downtown Paso Robles. Panolivo serves breakfast and lunch daily, plus dinner on Friday and Saturday night. Fresh pastries and desserts are on display when you walk in, helping to set a casual French atmosphere. Dress is casual, pricing is moderate.
In a colorful, casual setting, diners enjoy the French-inspired Mediterranean cuisine that ranges from quiche Lorraine to crab cake salads to cassoulet with duck confit. For breakfast, try one of the fresh pastries, or the Panolivo Benedict with a tomato slice in lieu of the usual hollandaise, or make your own three-egg omelet with sautéed mushrooms and gooey Emmental cheese. For lunch, we like the crispy croque monsieur or the hearty supreme panino---almost a club sandwich with ham, turkey and bacon---and the house-made potato chips. At dinner (on Friday and Saturday only), it's hard to go wrong with French classics like the onion soup or the beef bourguignon, and be sure to save room for the crème brûlée tarte Tatin for dessert. The wine list offers a lot of local favorites, plus some reasonably priced French labels.
