Slow-cooked meats like tri-tip and ribs are finished on wood-burning grills to impart some of the smoky flavor of traditional barbecue. There's also chicken and, on weekends, prime rib. The meats are sauced after cooking, not during, so you can opt out of it or put it on yourself. The salads are large and fresh with house-made dressings. Favorites are the tri-tip salad and the barbecue chopped salad. Beer, wine and mixed drinks are all available. The feeling is casual, day or night, with large wooden booths that accommodate a whole family. The décor here is more polished than some of the older locations. Servers are nice and friendly. During the week, it's a fun place to go with the office crowd for lunch. On the weekends, the waits can be long for all the families filing in.
