Uncle Yu's Szechuan Description:
As with its Lafayette location, Uncle Yu's in San Ramon has three elements that set it apart from many Chinese restaurants: attentive, cheerful service; beautiful décor; and a terrific wine list featuring both California and French choices. The fare, although the name includes the word Szechuan, is from all over China, but mostly concentrates on Cantonese dishes. Ignore the flaming pu pu tray, and tuck into the crab puff appetizer or the braised calamari. Entrées include an excellent selection of seafood dishes, like garlic scallops and prawns with lobster sauce. The rack of lamb and breast of duck will satisfy the carnivore in you. Chocolate mousse is a great finale.
