Burgers, prime rib and steaks are the specialties of the house, but the menu also includes salmon, salads, pork chops and roasted chicken.
There's little doubt that the function of a steakhouse is to serve steaks of any description, if possible. But when a place has been popular for years at this exercise, there's probably a necessity for a slight variation to avoid boredom. Conspicuously placed right in the middle of the menu, the novelty at Houston's appears in bold letters: Sushi! Here we go. Sushi may not be the most ideal companion of spare ribs, but after all, if an alternative is needed, why not try an item from the limited selection of basic sushi, including a vegetarian roll? A large flat screen enables you to watch the sushi chef working in Technicolor on your spicy tuna roll. It's a fun place with energy and a hi-tech vibe, with a pleasant, rough-cut two-tiered décor, exposed bricks walls, dark wood ceiling, bronze railings, comfortable booths and an unexpected fireplace. Prime rib roast and filet mignon are the highlight but there are also fish dishes and a large choice of salads. Twelve interesting red and white wines, such as the Qupé Syrah, are offered by the glass.
