Acme Food & Beverage Company proves its locavore orientation with a cornucopia of produce-driven dishes. Chef-owner Kevin Callaghan sends a weekly e-mail tantalizing patrons with the latest seasonal specialties and wine dinners. On the creative nightly menu, which features reasonably priced small plates and bowls in addition to the larger main courses, you'll find such offerings as pan-fried Carolina catfish with black-eyed peas and rice with a spicy pepper and boiled peanut sauce, or chicken confit with house-preserved rhubarb sauce over roasted carrots and parsnips. Blackened salmon turns up with a spicy black bean-mirliton squash sauté over an irresistible house staple---two-hour cheese grits.
