The Candle Light Inn Description:
There's been enough updating at this old country inn to please modern palates, but not so much that the place has lost touch with the gracious values of its 80-plus-years history. The dining rooms are soothing in muted cocoa and white. Service is formal without being stiff. And the menu, compact and well balanced, corrals the essentials---meat, poultry and seafood---into a pleasing array. Sautéed shrimp and scallops are served with chèvre and artichoke ravioli. Grilled pork is accompanied by sweet potato au gratin, rack of lamb by Boursin whipped potatoes. It's civilized dining, just old-fashioned enough to offer an evening's oasis from workaday cares.
