Da Campo Osteria, the much-anticipated restaurant from chef Todd English, is located in the Il Lugano Suite Hotel, on the Intracoastal Waterway. The décor is contemporary but warm---lots of leather and wood in the dining area, and a brick-walled open kitchen. The Italian cuisine, as the kitchen's sizeable copper-fronted wood oven would suggest, includes innovative flatbread pizzas as well as house-made pastas and grilled entrées. There's also a cheese show: mozzarella made from curds tableside, then garnished with accompaniments ranging from simple sea salt to figs, prosciutto, spiced walnuts, tapenade, honey, currants and more.
