Dinner begins with an impressive appetizer tray festooned with shrimp, duck and chicken liver pâté, smoked salmon butter, a medley of marinated vegetables and cheese dips. It's easy to satiate your appetite in one fell swoop, but then you'd miss out on the salads and main dishes that zigzag from filet Wellington and elk medallions to the cioppino and lobster Thermidor.
