Kim's Description:
The big, low-ceilinged dining room, festooned with Asian-style plaques and artifacts, seems impersonal but the warm welcome takes away the potential for an impersonal experience. This family-style Vietnamese restaurant just off the West Bank Expressway pulses as a community center for its many regulars and their extended families on many weekend nights. For the casual guest with a limited acquaintance with Vietnamese cooking, the kitchen's hefty roster of dishes may offer only a handful of recognizable choices. Salt-baked shrimp---actually marinated and fried---are a good bet, as are the hot-and-sour soups and some of the simpler noodle dishes ("pho").
