Farrago Description:
Farrago attempts to bring the world stage to the home front, offering an international menu. Even the Latin name can be translated as a mixed bag. Sometimes the modern food goes too far; other times it is out-of-this-world good. The menu boasts everything from a California-inspired portobello mushroom burger to a hummus-and-tabbouleh combo from the Middle East. The front dining area with the busy bar scene gives way to a larger dining area overlooking the apartment courtyard and pool. One of the best starters is curried mussels, enhanced by a side of garlic bread. Innovative pizzas are also solid---try the jerked version with Canadian bacon and mango. Salads range from a garlicky Caesar topped with pesto-grilled shrimp to a Vietnamese with glass noodles. The grilled salmon---a tower of sweet potato purée, fresh greens and perfectly cooked fish with a colorful salsa of nectarines and sun-dried tomatoes---is a Farrago specialty.
