Irma's Restaurant Description:
With the excitement of the nearby ballpark and the surge in downtown loft living, more and more folks are discovering the charm of Irma's, long a bright spot in the warehouse district on the northeast corner of downtown. A lunchtime favorite of downtown powerbrokers, legal eagles and office workers, it now has lines forming early and snaking onto the street. To ease the wait, Irma herself works the crowd, offering her fruit-filled lemonade. Inside, every inch of the place is covered in whimsical bric-a-brac dangling from the ceiling and affixed to the walls. Traditional, home-cooked Mexican fare is served only for weekday breakfasts and lunch---except on Astros game days, when you can catch an early supper before the game. There's no menu---just recited selections (sans prices, unfortunately) are volunteered. No matter. You can always rely on Irma's famed enchiladas---we recommend the spinach-and-chicken version. Don't miss the chicken mole or chunky guacamole, either.
