This sophisticated little enclave is home at the beautiful Marquesa Hotel, one of the island's more elegant inns. The Caribbean-inspired New World cuisine shines, and chef Susan Ferry draws connoisseurs from all over the globe. The menu changes daily and indicates the subtle changes of the season (peaches will be on it one day, then gone the next). Her specialties often incorporate Asian influences (as in her Key West seafood dumplings with saké-miso broth, or her bluefin tuna with edamame, seaweed salad, wasabi sauce and fried rice) as well as Latin (conch and blue crab cake with jícama slaw, or saffron risotto). The wine selections rival the cuisine for creativity and quality, and the wine-savvy servers will gladly recommend less familiar labels.
