Ocean Boulevard Description:
Step through the door of Ocean Boulevard and be swept away from average beach cuisine to a dining experience more likely found in a vibrant metropolitan area. The interior feels like no other on the beach---with a poured concrete bar, exposed aggregate floor, low lighting and semi-open kitchen fronted by several highly sought after seats. Seasonal ingredients, fresh seafood and meats become the backbone of a succinct yet well planned menu. Starters include a timely soup special like cold cream of corn for summer, crispy pork belly with jasmine rice and spicy cucumber kimchi, a well done seven lettuce salad with pistachios and goat cheese and the OB skillet featuring a variety of roasted crostini served, yes, in a cast iron skillet. Entrées shine with fresh fish specials like tilefish and spadefish, a beautiful New York strip with mashers, a lump crab cake, duck and pork numbers all served with seasonal accompaniments. For dessert, don't miss an OB classic: macadamia nut torte with house-made caramel ice cream. A small-plates menu borrows heavily from the full menu for diners who choose to remain at the bar, perhaps sampling from the inventive martini menu (try the Bellinitini), and a vegetarian menu is also available.
