Rundown Cafe Description:
Owner Michael Monteil believes in serving the freshest ingredients at his island-inspired restaurant and always features the finest local seafood. Lunch and dinner menus provide such a wide variety of dishes no two meals will ever be the same. Start your meal off with the namesake soup---Rundown---a traditional Jamaican soup of fish, coconut milk, onions, chilies, tomatoes and yams. Other house favorites include the Baja California fish tacos, conch fritters, Coco Loco chicken, Willie Wings in a honey scotch bonnet barbecue sauce, and the massive Tsunami salads, which can be topped with everything from grilled shrimp to fried eggplant. For sandwich fare, the selection runs from crab cakes to calamari (and yes, burgers!) served with chips and salsa or black beans and rice. Kids like the PB & J with a big basket of Boff (seasoned french fries). Upstairs, the Tsunami Bar and Deck offers an ocean view and balmy breezes along with service from the full menu. Everything at Rundown is relaxed, including this sign on the door: "hours are subject to change according to the season or the surf."
