Spin-offs of The Grill on the Alley in Beverly Hills, these clean and simple American eateries are fashioned after someone's fantasy of a '40s restaurant, right down to the white-tiled floors, dark wooden booths and Blue Plate Specials. The food is pretty good---burgers, grilled fish and chicken, meatloaf, Caesar salads---and the prices reasonable. The skinny fries are great, as are the martinis. Other locations.
