La Serenata Gourmet Description:
This casual offshoot of East L.A. institution La Serenata de Garibaldi serves the same terrific fresh mahi mahi tacos, gorditas bursting with shrimp and quesadillas stuffed with mushrooms, poblano peppers and cheese. Fresh tortillas encase well-spiced shredded beef. A variety of fresh grilled fish (mahi mahi, halibut or salmon) are all available with a delectable spinach sauce. Breakfast is served on weekends with Mexican choices as well as Belgian waffles. Whether eating in or taking to go, visit the "dessert depot" for items like tres leches cake, guava cheesecake or upside-down cranberry walnut pumpkin cake. They don't take reservations, but it's worth the wait.
