Park Description:
Chef Joshua Siegel, who cut his culinary teeth at Bay Area restaurants like Square One and Firefly, runs this community-oriented American bistro near the Echo Park entrance to Dodger Stadium. Siegel hired college buddy Roian Atwood to design the homey space, which features a black and white checkered floor and pistachio-hued walls that hold eerily empty frames. Start with crisp-edged, Southern-style cornmeal pancakes topped with seared shrimp, spicy chipotle butter, roasted tomato salsa and a squiggle of Mexican crema. A half-pound Montana Legend hanger steak is long and lean, served with mashed potatoes, sugar snap peas, mushroom-cherry pepper ragoƻt and a mountain of crispy onions. Be on the lookout for the specials board, which might yield a rock cod filet with a light garlic, fennel and grapefruit sauce. Since the restaurant doesn't have a liquor license, remember to bring your own wine or beer. Corkage is free. For dessert, try the flaky butterscotch pudding tart with whipped cream and chunks of almond brittle.
