Bahama Breeze Description:
If the name of this establishment suggests a tranquil, laid-back setting, you've got the wrong impression. From the moment you drive up until the time you bail out, you feel as if there's a Caribbean hurricane brewing around you. With the calypso music on the patio and the unrestricted, high ceilings inside, it's a miracle you can hear your dinner companion at all. A mixed suburban crowd takes control of the place early in the evening, with families, young couples and suits mingling in a wash of margaritas, bottled beer and non-alcoholic drinks with paper umbrellas. Later, the singles take over. There are plenty of tropical dishes to choose from, including tuna ceviche, a mound of raw, sushi-grade fish marinated in citrus juices, ginger, green onion and coconut atop watercress and sliced mangoes with a drizzle of jalapeño and roasted red pepper oils. Jerk-painted salmon heads up the seafood section, and there's calypso shrimp pasta, too, but go for the half-order unless you're sharing.
