A steakhouse that promises high-quality steaks at average-Joe prices, Erte delivers on the food while throwing a very hip vibe. Jazz coming from the speakers, leopard prints on the chairs and the clubby black-and-Merlot-colored walls give the interior style. While you dine next to the up-and-coming in the art world, try crab cakes or roast chicken that's fragrant with rosemary and garlic; both are standouts among the non-steak options. The crispy hash browns rival any at the high-end steak joints, but skip the sweet potato fries. As for the beef, it is true that the quality is tops, but sometimes the doneness is a little off. The wine list is very accessible with some good California appearances. The lunch menu offers a bargain steak sandwich.
