Coop's Place Description:
This quintessential French Quarter beer joint has been packing them in for decades, despite sketchy, uneven service and lots of heavy food. Coop's Place's reputation does not rest on formality. Here you can let loose with your friends, enjoy big overstuffed po' boys and beer, and scarf down a plate of some of the best jambalaya (made with rabbit meat) in town. The gumbo is rich and hearty and if for some reason you don't agree, you're welcome to order it with extra seafood for an extra three bucks. Groups might consider starting with the "Bayou appetizer," a generously portioned platter of fried shrimp, crawfish oyster and crab claws. Save room for Cajun fried chicken, served with rabbit and sausage jambalaya. If your taste leans toward spicy pasta dishes, try the crawfish and tasso pasta with hot, hot, hot Alfredo sauce. Because of the presence of video poker, only patrons over 21 years of age may enter.
