Louisiana Pizza Kitchen serves traditional Italian pizza (flat bread with olive oil) also know for their caeser salad and specialty pizzas.
As long as anybody can remember, Pizza Kitchen, as locals call it, has anchored the corner of French Market Pl. and Barracks St. Looking out over the much-heralded French Quarter flea market and French Market, the restaurant is all about pizza, beer and Italian entrées, such as herbed spaghetti, rosemary chicken, veal Marsala and garlic shrimp pasta. But it is the cracker-thin-crust pizza baked in specially designed ovens that are the calling cards of this place. The two dozen pizza selections range from grilled eggplant to barbecued chicken to portobello and shitake mushroom. Others include apple wood-smoked bacon and chives, smoked salmon, Hawaiian and shrimp teriyaki. Hearty calzones and heart-healthy wraps share space on the menu with imaginative salads and a standout andouille sausage gumbo. Although there is a respectable list of wines by the glass, the real beverage attractions are the micro-brewed and imported beers. Local art on consignment lines the walls.
