Boqueria Description:
Serving up tapas dishes in a chic but unpretentious environment, Boqueria is helmed by chef Seamus Mullen, whose name doesn't exactly inspire confidence when it comes to authentic Spanish cuisine. But dig into the grilled octopus, which is charred on the outside but still full of juice, or the cod croquettes which are mushy in a good way. The skewered, seared lamb is served pink and tender while the almond-stuffed, bacon-wrapped dates offer a savory-meets-sweet treat in one small plate. The short list of Spanish wines is thoughtfully selected. In the end, you'll wonder if Mullen is a real Spaniard under the guise of an Irish name.
