The Fairway Market, the one and only affordable gourmet food purveyor on the Upper West Side, opened a sit-down café that offers such delights as lox, Belgian waffles, pancakes, roasted vegetables, tarte Tatin and Apple Brown Betty. The juice and sundae bars are popular. Don't expect to find a seat just because the place is big.
