Kati Roll CO Inc Description:
"Indian Burrito" sounds like a horrible mishmash, but it best describes the main attraction at this Midtown lunch destination. With a menu composed entirely of pictograms, the eatery is an off-kilter experience in a part of Manhattan filled with bland delis and fast food chains. Here, diners queue up and choose from approximately half a dozen different fillings, including tikka, paneer and unda. The fillings are skewered and grilled over an open flame, then added to a pillowy Indian flatbread and rolled up tight, just as a burrito would be. The chicken tikka offers an onion-y kick, while the paneer roll is smooth as a silk sari; all the rolls benefit from the griddled butteriness of the flatbread. Best of all, a pair of rolls rarely tops ten dollars.
