Getting There by Subway:

-E or V train to Fifth Avenue/53rd Street.

Getting There by Bus:

-On Fifth Avenue, take the M1, M2, M3, M4 or M5 to 53rd Street

-On Sixth Avenue, Take the M5, M6, or M7 to 53rd Street; or take the M57 and M50 cross-town buses on 57th and 50th Streets.

General Rules:

- Baby strollers are permitted at all times.

- Still photography for personal use is permitted in collection galleries only. No flash or tripods allowed.
Videotaping is permitted in the lobby only. NO photographs or videotapes may be reproduced, distributed, or sold without permission from the Museum.

- All bags are subject to security inspection before entering the galleries. All backpacks (any size), and umbrellas, parcels, bags, and purses larger
than 11 x 14 inches (28 x 35.5 cm) must be checked. Luggage cannot be acepted.

- Sketching is permitted in the galleries pencil only, no ink or paint with sketchbooks no larger than 8 1/2 X 11 inches. No easels, stools, or sketching while
sitting on the floor will be permitted. If galleries are crowded, guards may ask visitors to stop sketching or writing.

- The use of cellular phones is not permitted in the
Museum's galleries.

- Outside Food and drinks are not permitted in the Museum.

- Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the Museum or Sculpture Garden.

- Cellular phone use is not permitted in the Museum.


- The Sculpture Garden closes during inclement weather.

CONCESSIONS: MoMA features a variety of dining options created and operated by Danny Meyer's acclaimed Union Square Hospitality Group

CAFE 2: Offers seasonal Roman fare in an informal settting. Guests can also take a quick break at the espresso bar. Sat., Sun., Mon., Wed., and Thurs. 10:30am to 5:00pm; Fri. 10:30am to 7:30pm.

TERRACE 5: An intimate, full-service cafe with a spectacular view
of the Sculpture Garden. Enjoy desserts, chocolates, and
sandwiches as well as wine, cocktails, coffee, and tea.
Sat., Sun., Mon., Wed., and Thurs. 10:30am to 5:00pm; Fri. 10:30am to 7:30pm.

THE MODERN: A fine-dining restaurant featuring the cuisine of Chef Gabriel Kreuther. In addition to the stunning dining room, The Modern includes The Barroom, a more casual dining and bar area, as well as a seasonal outdoor terrace. A separate street level entrance allows guests to enjoy the resturant and bar beyond Museum hours. Please note: The Modern will
be open for lunch only until early 2005. Access will be

Educational Programs and Activities

Gallery Talks: Lectures on the collection and special exhibitions are
available daily at 11:30am and 1:30pm. Topics are listed in
the Museum Lobby, and groups meet in the selected gallery.
Lectures are included with Museum admission. For enhanced
hearing in the galleries, FM headsets are available from
the speaker. Sign language interpreted gallery talks are
held every forth Sunday of the month at 1:30pm.

Adult and Academic Programs: Offer interactive, informal, and scholarly
opportunites for visitors to access modern and comtemporary art. The Department of Education invites adults and students
