It's not Paris or even one of the suburbs, but the view of preppy Chestnut Hill from the sidewalk café is one of the most favored in town. You can be outdoors all year round on the terrace, but inside you'll find a chummy wood and brass bar and a pleasant dining room in warm shades of yellow. There are terra cotta floors, and local artists' paintings on the walls. The food is as laid-back as the atmosphere, and you can go from New Orleans specials such as catfish fingers or coconut shrimp to a California roll and spicy Asian noodles. Entrées include steaks, grilled loin of pork with garlic-mashed potatoes, and nut-crusted Chilean sea bass with wild rice. Have a pre- or post-prandial drink and watch this particular world go by.
