Piero's serves up old-world-style Italian fare in a simple, unadorned setting. Patrons frequenting this Port Chester trattoria wait patiently for their turn to dine at one of the forty seats. The menu, broken down by chicken, pasta, veal, seafood and sides, is what one would expect. Jazzier specials like zuppa di pesce, studded with large sea scallops, and the most expensive item on the menu, the veal chop, are very good, but if you are venturing to Piero's it is for old standbys like chicken Marsala, piccata and francaise, and, of course, the homemade pastas. Argue over whether it is gravy or sauce while you sip from one of the regional red wines. There's nothing unexpected at Piero's, a place you can take your grandmother or an out-of-towner looking for good Italian.
