Dvin Restaurant Description:
Only the walls are plain, and they're painted white. Everything else is decorated within a centimeter of its life---in the classic Eastern European style---by the mother-daughter team that owns, cooks, takes orders and serves. Patrons chow down on the Armenian-Greek-Russian dishes like a borscht that's far from the creamy pink style. Redolent of tomatoes and cabbage and onions, its zingy balance swings toward the sweet. And speaking of cabbage, it's stuffed, natch, for a main course with a sauce that shows off bay leaf. The chicken blintzes are made with blini, buckwheat pancakes---and they're also available with smoked salmon and the traditional cheese. But our vote goes to the chicken, which is delicately seasoned and intriguing. Desserts draw mixed reviews for the Greek-like pastries.
