Sage Description:
Located just north of the Anheuser-Busch InBev brewery, Sage draws a crowd that is youngish, either local or post-work, and into exploring and sharing food. The dining room, painted for the namesake herb, is welcoming and not overly loud, though in the summer months customers tend to favor the spacious, shaded patio or second-floor balcony. Food walks the line between traditional and modern, with good onion rings, tasty chicken wings and first-rate meatloaf that, sadly, shares plate space with a too-standard vegetable selection. Sage was a local pioneer of the "dessert shot" trend, with six offerings priced less than $2 apiece, and its Key lime pie and red velvet cake still lead the pack.
