Cecil's Description:
We're still mourning the loss of the downtown Minneapolis location, but fortunately the family business survives on Cleveland Avenue in St. Paul. Here, you can browse the aisles of kosher foods in the front deli-grocery room. The dining room in back serves up stacked deli sandwiches, matzo ball soup and first-rate cole slaw for those who prefer a sit-down meal. While our favorite will always be the Some Like It Hot---a grilled hot pastrami sandwich with hot pepper cheese---a close second choice is the Rifka, a combination of hot turkey, Swiss cheese, onions and barbecue sauce. No denying it's not the Carnegie Deli, but if we wanted to live in New York, we'd move.
