Pop Restaurant Description:
Owner Clark Knutson has borrowed elements from his small Northeast Minneapolis café and expanded them in this enormous, fun-loving restaurant in the heart of downtown St. Paul. At lunch, office workers come for the eclectic fare, which includes chicken pozole, Swedish meatballs, Thai-inspired chicken satay, Cuban pressed sandwiches, and couscous studded with shrimp and olives. Ticket-holders to the nearby Xcel Energy Center and the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts make it a dinner stop for simple house-made pastas, pan-seared salmon, pork tenderloin with chorizo- and cornbread-style polenta and other hearty signature dishes. Knutson is a fan of pop culture and art, so the setting lives up to the name.
