Mama's Cafe Description:
If you want to visit a squeeky clean, family friendly nice restaurant with fast service of good food then the Mama's chain of restaurants is an excellent choice.
We dined at the 281 North (San Pedro north of Bitters) location, parking is ample, the front desk staff friendly. Like all of the folks at Mama's everyone had a smile and was very prompt and curteous.
The dinner menu is quite broad. Beside three or four seafood specials which vary daily, there is a great selection of appetizers (wings, shrooms and onion rings are very good) and a menu that makes your mouth water. Everything from meatloaf (my wife loved it) to Tex-Mex, steak and sandwitches. The best part is that the prices of the dinners include two veggies and jalepeno corn bread or whole wheat rolls. The veggies are changed frequently and are on a chalk board in each of the three dining rooms.
There is a good beer and wine selection, and they serve the wine of the south (ice tea) properly, that is in a large glass and cold, cold cold!
All of the waitstaff know their business, and the overall dining experience was great.
Mama's begs repeat business, if only to try the wide variety on the menu. Prices are very reasonable, and a childs menu is available.
