Kim Wah Chinese Bbq Description:
Located in a faceless strip center, Kim Wah doesn't look like much from the exterior. Mirrors and red paper lanterns don't redeem the fluorescent-bright interior, either. But it's the food you're here for, and now that some familiar faces have returned to the dining room, the kitchen seems to have recovered from a recent slide with a revised menu blending standard Chinese fare with "authentic" dishes that once inhabited a special list. Ignore the lo meins and the kung paos and head instead for dishes such as salted pepper seafood trio and salt-toasted ribs. It's okay to eschew the intestine with preserved vegetable, but don't fail to consider anything with duck---except maybe the duck feet. (Peking duck is available daily until it runs out, usually early in the evening.) Simple watercress and pork soup can be satisfying, too, and vegetable dishes, like snow pea leaves sautéed with garlic, routinely exceed expectations.
