Opulence is the operating theme at this family favorite, where gay-nineties nostalgia fuels its popularity---that plus dueling pianos and the Girl in the Red Velvet Swing. As the airborne ingénue gyrates overhead, families celebrating birthdays and folks out for a night on the town consume shrimp cocktail, escargots and French onion soup below. Old-school steaks, including prime rib and steak Diane, have always been more than dependable; we're less sure about Texas Ranger poblano chicken. Cedar-planked Tasmanian salmon also stretches the steakhouse envelope; herb-crusted rack of lamb comes crowned with a chipotle sauce, not mint jelly, which is fine since we prefer to satisfy our sweet tooth with the justly famous desserts---Candy Crunch or bourbon carrot cakes, for example.
