Sarika's Thai Restaurant Description:
Sarika is a staple of the Medical Center---in part, we suspect, due to the healthy qualities of much Thai cuisine. The colorful summer rolls fall squarely into the good-for-you camp, and soups such as the traditional tom yum gai with chicken and lemon grass are marginally less caloric than the tom kha gai with added coconut milk. Salads such as Tiger Cry (seared beef with an incendiary sauce) and squid with onions and tomatoes keep the light-but-lusty theme alive. Deep-fried whole flounder in chili sauce can be pricey, but it's such a spectacle that the expense is often worth it---just make sure you request the sauce truly spicy. A good fare-thee-well would be the sticky rice with an indulgent scoop of Thai coconut ice cream.
