Atoll Restaurant Description:
By nature, The Atoll, located in the Catamaran Resort Hotel, caters to many conventioneers and tourists. What local families should know, however, is that this is an ideal place to take the children for unpretentious waterfront dining. We are partial to the appetizers on the menu and could make a meal out of those alone. Don't miss the tender Hawaiian short ribs with wasabi mashed potatoes, sesame-chicken lettuce cups or the warm shrimp martini with horseradish-mashed potatoes and fiery cocktail sauce. We like the sushi-grade grilled ahi with pineapple relish as a light main course. Heartier appetites will enjoy the five-spice tenderloin with roasted corn-pepper sauce and sweet potato purée. Desserts are not a particular high point, but they run the gamut---from crème brûlée to cheesecake to tiramisu. Happy hour means delectable mai tai's, sea breezes and sunny views.
