Langano Description:
Although Ethiopian food is a rare commodity in the metro area, Langano Ethiopian Restaurant does not add to its appeal. Lacking décor of any sort---not even the traditional basket weave tables that make an Ethiopian restaurant an ethnic adventure---Langano does not even rise to the occasion of serving interesting eats. Both the key wot (beef cooked in a hot pepper sauce) and the misir wot (split lentils cooked with onions and berbere) were almost indistinguishable. The menu offers many more beef than lamb, chicken or vegetarian dishes, but what does salvage the experience is the generous heap of the Ethiopian bread, injera. Note that the restaurant provides live entertainment until the wee hours on Thursday through Sunday nights.
