Pulcinella's Description:
Named for the deceptively crafty Italian archetype, Pulcinella's brings epicurean charm to an otherwise pedestrian dining scene. With its open kitchen and crowd-pleasing plates (risotto croquettes) guests will feel right at home. Start off with peachy Prosecco, or one of the house sangrĂas, for a novel spin on Montepulciano. Fried calamari come sized to share, as do family "sides" like braciole (braised beef in marinara, with slices of hardboiled egg) and salsiccia (sweet or hot sausage). Early birds like the grilled panini, but after sunset we recommend crispy scaloppine di vitello. Hammered into lean filets, it's worth celebrating. Also sure to please is chef Samuel Palmisano's spinach fettuccine carbonara, tossed with light cream, prosciutto and pine nuts. Served in a large bowl, there's plenty to pass around, though you may not want to. Hand-wrapped cannoli top the house desserts, so save room for sweets. Long in the culinary shadow of its big brother, South Burlington is finally growing up. And while tables here are still available on short notice, don't expect that to last.
