Pasha Cafe Description:
The menu is less exotic and Egyptian, and more Continental or perhaps Italian than in the restaurant's previous incarnation. Even such American goodies as crab cakes, pan-roasted cod, and at lunch a chef's salad put this place more into the American mainstream than into anything truly Egyptian. That assures the owners of broader appeal, but if you are hankering for some foreign fare, be sure to ask the waitstaff for some tips. You may be steered to the moulkia with lamb, consisting of the leaves of a Middle Eastern plant broth-cooked and combined with lamb. Or try a bowl of ribolitta, the Italian wintertime bread soup that warms you to your toes. Share an appetizer of hummus, or roasted eggplant and onions mixed with tomatoes into a salad. The whole meal is reasonably priced; the setting is cozy and non-showy.
