Anita's Mexican Food Description:
It's late and you don't feel like cooking. Worse yet, the kids are starving. If you are lucky, you'll live near one of Virginia's seven Anita's restaurants, and your dinner problems are solved---and at rock-bottom prices. Established about twenty-five years ago by a real Anita, these eateries are local institutions, frequented by generations of Virginians who have grown up eating the generous enchiladas and tacos. Today's menu is so complete that there are very few popular New Mexican combos that you won't find. Our favorites include the classic carne adovada and the done-right chile relleno. Check the blackboard for daily specials, though you can never go wrong with any of her burritos. Note that Anita's has won the New Mexico State University Chile Institute's merit recognition award for its furthering of New Mexican food traditions.
