Panisa Thai is a family-owned suburban restaurant. But what the family offers in enthusiasm, its menu lacks in imagination. It's basically the usual dishes that one has eaten at most local Thai restaurants: spring rolls, lemon grass soup, chicken and beef curries, and, of course, pad thai. Although the menu is abbreviated, keep an eye out for the one or two dishes that do bear repeating: crisply fried catfish and the jumbo shrimp topped with coconut milk in a red curry sauce. While this is all very pleasant for the Westerner, those who favor traditional Thai food may object to finding something called "After School Kid Favorite," spicy meatballs with a sweet-spicy sauce. The kitchen offers two desserts: fried bananas and sweet sticky rice with or without mangos.
