Palladio Description:
A bucholic restaurant tucked away in the Barboursville winery. Serving northern Italian food. With a fixed price menue by course.
Chef Melissa Close Hart and her kitchen staff cook up four-course dinners with wine pairings, especially apt given the restaurant's vineyard residence. Start perhaps with crab-and-saffron-stuffed calamari, continue with such dishes as black pepper gnocchi with sunchokes and parsnips, progress to free-range pheasant breast and finish with a Sicilian-style lemon tart. Every January, during the restaurant's annual month-long closing, chef Hart and her staff travel to Italy to study cuisine, incorporating new knowledge into menu offerings.
