J. R.'s Stockyards Inn Description:
Neither hip nor trendy, this staid, '50s-style restaurant looks like a ranch house that got swept up in a Texas tornado and resettled in suburban McLean. But it has a very up-to-date, upscale steak menu featuring first-rate cuts of beef. Although the kitchen prepares assorted non-beef dishes, passing up steak here makes little sense. So here's the beef: prime ribs, New York strips, porterhouses, marinated sirloin and others. You can't go wrong with any cut of beef here, as businessmen discover over lunch, couples and groups over dinner. Desserts come out on a tray for your selection: Try the cheesecake.
