Perhaps the most exciting aspect of this restaurant is not the food, but the huge Indian music video that plays out, constantly and loudly, against the back wall. It’s a little like being wrapped in surround sound while you eat, and a good distraction for the food. This, we found, was inconsistent, with some dishes---namely the butter chicken---far outshining others, such as the bland lamb vindaloo. As any fan of Indian food knows, this should be a dish that screams with flavor and heat, but not here. The menu is lengthy, and actually, some dishes stand out for their rarity. There is hyderabadi kheema, a marinated ground lamb entrée and navaratan khoorma, a vegetarian entrée that’s the merging of nine distinct foods, including vegetables, dry fruits and cheese. If you order the full dinner and not à la carte, everything is brought out to you at once on a large metal plate, and you get the chef’s choice of dessert, like it or not.
