Sister restaurant to Herndon's Harvest of India, this fancier place offers generous portions of dishes that may sound familiar. But you can pick out such offbeat choices as baingan lajawab, or baby eggplant stuffed with cottage cheese and dried fruits; dal tadkewali, a medley of lentils tempered with tomatoes and cumin; and cubes of fish in a minty sauce. Everything, especially the breads, is notable. And the dessert of chhena rabri, a rich and sweet condensed milk pudding, is a fine finale.
